Orthokeratology Academy of America Celebrates a New Fellow

What Being a Fellow Means

The distinction of passing the Orthokeratology Academy of America’s Fellowship Program is one that only eight eye doctors have accomplished in the USA. While it is not an Olympic event, significant experience must be demonstrated to even qualify for the process to begin.

Cases must be presented, papers are written, and a twelve-hour exam involving live patients and written testing had to be passed in a rigorous fashion before this honor could be earned. Orthokeratology is one of the terms that is used to describe the modern technique of Overnight Corneal Reshaping for vision correction at night so that no glasses or contacts need to be worn during the day.
